An incident happened on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California. It is called "Black Dahlia", depends on the victim's nickname.
Elizabeth Short who was called as Black Dahlia was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist.
The murder has not solved yet on today and left been mysterious. After the incident was found, by leading to many suspects, some adaptions were appeared in novels, tv programs and movies.

For me, I knew the murder form the book "Hollywood Babylon 2" 1984 written by Kenneth Anger.
On this book, the movie "True Confessions" 1981 directed by Ulu Grosbard is based on the murder.
In this movie, Missy Cleveland (Amanda Cleveland) acted as Lois Fazenda, and we can regard her as Elizabeth Short.
